Tanya Hasman is the executive director of Solstice at Palatine. She first came to Solstice in 2018 as the Business Office director. Tanya enjoys connecting with residents on a daily basis and loves to take part in the many vibrant events and activities in the community. The best part of her job is being able to bring her residents and staff together.
She grew up in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, and has been working in various aspects of health care since 2003. She is fluent in three languages and enjoys reading, learning about different cultures and history. At home, she loves spending time with her three children, husband and the rest of her family.
Director of Sales and Marketing
Igael Hamburg is the director of Sales and Marketing at Solstice at Palatine. He brings over 20 years of sales and marketing experience across a variety of industries, including finance, health care and fitness. He earned his bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in international business from DePaul University.
Outside of work, Igael likes to volunteer and currently serves on the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County board of directors. In his spare time, he enjoys sports, fitness and outdoor activities.
Business Office Director
Gavin Sym brings over a decade of leadership, sales and customer service experience across a variety of industries, including education, wireless communications and hospitality.
Following his passions for human relations, leadership and business management, Gavin earned his master’s degree in business administration with a focus in human resource management from Colorado Technical University. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Fort Hays State University.
Gavin is an advocate for self-improvement at any stage of life and enjoys finding new opportunities to apply positive psychology in the workplace.
In his free time, Gavin enjoys challenging himself to learn new skills and languages, hiking with his dog, and exploring new parks and cities.
Culinary Services Director
Bob Baiz brings more than two decades of culinary and hospitality experience to the Culinary Services director role. Before joining the Solstice at Palatine team, Bob worked in restaurants all over the country, including in New Orleans, Los Angeles and New Jersey, and has recently served as the sous chef at Stoney River Steakhouse in Deer Park, Ill. He is also a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago.
In his free time, Chef Bob enjoys gardening, entertaining and spending time with his husband. He is looking forward to consistently enhancing Solstice residents’ lives with delicious, healthy meals in a pleasant environment.
Vibrant Life® Director
Jillian Altosino has 18 years of senior living experience, serving as an activity director and certified nursing assistant at various communities.
Jillian loves coming to work to talk to her favorite people, provide excellent care to residents and have fun. She believes, if you love what you do, it’s more of a mission than a job. She pledges to serve residents by providing them with a vibrant life full of laughter, love and lasting memories.
In her spare time, Jillian enjoys arts and crafts, taking her bunny Butter on adventures, and playing and watching sports.
Building Services Director
Heriberto Diaz is our Building Services director and brings over 35 years of experience serving as a maintenance director. He previously served as a general contractor, a medical assistant and EKG technician. Heriberto is trained in phlebotomy, CPR, hazmat, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and safety and rescue. He is also fluent in Spanish.
When he isn’t working, Heriberto loves spending time with his wife and four children and playing and watching sports.
Building Services Director
Elias Flores is the Building Services director for Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. Elias joined the team 13 years ago when he was still in high school. He started as a dishwasher/prep cook on the weekends, and then moved into housekeeping and serving full time. He helped anywhere he was needed, including driving the bus, moving and maintenance. He slowly started learning about maintenance and, in time, was promoted as a head housekeeper for nine years. Elias really liked doing maintenance and helping in maintenance as much as he could. He decided to take a chance when there was an opening for Building Services director.
